I'm an astronaut, before the steam deck i was a nobody. i bought it back when it was an idea and not released yet and has been keeping me busy on mars ever since, my coworkers all love them too. we like to system link them and play breath of the wild competitively to see who the real man in the group really is. Sometimes we stop by elons mars mansion for some wifi and its nice to have the function of a portable computer. Because of the steam deck i am able to do what i do without doing it, thank you for the beautiful review.

I will tell you like this because I’m not a competitive gamer and own a PS & Xbox and love open world games survival and sandbox. If you’re like me “DO NOT GET THE STEAM DECK” the game choices are limited and most videos to help find games are all the basic triple A games. No hidden Gems and it’s not worth the money. Just save up and get a PC and put it at the bottom of your to buy list. Unless you like mainstream triple A games then go for it but every game able to be supported on steam deck I have on my consoles.

The steam deck is one of the best value for money deals in recent history. Think about it. Clothes, tv's, phones, cars, laptops,... All over priced. Ofcourse, valve make their money through the store.

My kids both have the Switch and were little upset I got a Steam Deck instead and debated it being more expensive. However I have every peripheral Valve has made and I have over 1500 games on Steam. I don't own any Switch games so the cost of a Switch and a few games would quickly equal my 512gb Steam Deck cost.

I'm currently saving up for a 512GB steam deck this would be my first experience with a PC in almost 20 years in terms of emulation there are a small handful of games I'd emulate the twisted metal games and the PSP FF dissidia games come to mind

The Steam Deck is the worst damn purchase I've made in years. The wifi absolutely f***ing sucks, the APU is garbage at doing anything, the ergonomics are shoddy, the analog sticks suck, and the track pads are a waste of component space. I absolutely f***ing hate this device.

I wouldn't exactly say Windows is saving more space with Windows updates constantly hoarding update files (and failing to do proper housekeeping causing buildup over time, which Average Joe won't know about)

I finally cracked and bought the 64GB Deck during the 10% anniversary sale, and bought a 512GB SSD for 80€ and dropped that in. Dual booting with no problems into SteamOS and Windows 11, mainly because I want local Game Pass games. I saw you had managed to get Forza Horizon to survive a sleep … every single time I wake the Deck from sleep in Windows 11, Forza Horizon 5 dies within a second or two. Anyone experienced this and manage to fix it? Great review!
